1. How do I unsubscribe ?

You can unsubscribe either by sending the following (paste it!):

unsubscribe theepistle
end
to listserver@fascicle.org, from the address you subscribed from, or you can use the web interface.

2. I got sent this message is it ok if I post it to the list ?

This depends on the message if it's on topic, and you have the permission of the author then by all means. If it's a chain letter, a virus warning or a binary then please don't.

3. I got this virus warning is it ok if I post it to the list ?

No. It's probably a hoax, and if it isn't then chances are everyone will be gettign a copy of the same warning via numerous routes. If you really really feel that you should forward such a warning, send it to me and I'll check it out and forward it as appropriate.

4. I've got this cool picture/graphic/file can I send that?

No. Some people pay, in one way or another, for every byte they download put it on a web page somewhere and post the link, people can download it if they like. Also see :

5. What have you got against html/tnef et al.?

HTML mail, and mail with tnef or winamil data is only useful for people with mail readers capable of dealing with that format, for the rest of us it's just garbage. Also it can more than double the size of you post without adding any value to what you are saying, be firendly if you mail client uses such things turn it off.

6. I subscribed but I don't seem to be getting any messages, is the list broken?

Chances are the list isn't broken, we're just a quiet and reserved bunch. Say something even if it's just hello sooner or later someone will wake up ;)

7. Why don't people talk about X?

Maybe no ones thought about it, maybe people are un sure about starting that thread. If you'd like a particular topic discussed start the thread yourself, it may be just the topic everyones been waiting for. But start discussion yourself don't wait for someone else.
