SAINT CLUB CHRISTMAS LETTER 1981

My Dear Ghouls, Leeches and Parasites,

Which being freely translated means you, my every faithful readers now there was I, peacefully musing on the Autumnal beauties, when our Hon. Secretary rudely accused me of hibernating, and demanded prompt action on the Newsletter.

So I will a tale unfold. In the Tower Hamlet of Stepney is a club for the benefit of youth. Its leader Pat Arnold, assistant leader Ray Singh. This club has flourished for 35 years, and ever since 1948 you my readers, have helped support its many activities. Last year our £1,000 was greatly appreciated; this year, as our Hon. Secretary reports overleaf, there is even more pressing need.

Not only does the club perform normal club evening activities, including disco for those with cast iron ears, but opens at midday to local schools, and is available for genuine social work under the guidance of Pat Arnold, who, not satisfied with being mother confessor to half of Stepney, is now exercising her talents against the modern trend - glue sniffing.

So go to it, raid your piggy banks, foil the bookies, baffle the taxman, dig deep and fork out. To this I will again add last year's magic formula - PLEASE and earn for yourselves a Merry Christmas, with a happy and prosperous 1982.

LESLIE CHARTERIS.
